“POLYLOGUE: DAY OF CELEBRATION ” (2025)
Elle Kannike is fascinated by K (the name she gives to the glass). The unpredictable behavior of the material acts as a trigger, inviting her to play. This is not a game of chess with fixed rules; it is a game that moves beyond established structures and routines. A material playmate challenges the artist to shift perspectives and discover new horizons. K is not an object, but an active agent-partner.
Co-creation with an agentic material assumes that the artist is directly connected to — and dependent upon — the material as a creative collaborator. Both the human artist and the material partner enter a heightened state of anticipation. Neither knows exactly how the process will unfold or how that delicious moment of open potential — where they meet — will emerge. Elle Kannike’s creative practice is a form of collective creation: the artist and K (along with other co-authors) combine their creative forces in a polylogue.
